Welcome to Bishop David Alumni Association website.

The Bishop David Alumni Association Inc, a non profit 501c3 organization, will provide educational and charitable grants (gifts and funds) to help support Catholic Education both elementary and secondary, in Southwest Jefferson County. These gifts and funds will help ensure families that wish a Catholic education for their children are available therefore sustaining Catholic education in SWJC.  We will also provide financial and “time and talent” support to Holy Cross High School in any endeavor deemed necessary by their administration and approved by our Board of Directors.

In the Bishop David spirit of giving we are asking all alumni to please give by joining the Alumni Association and help us fulfil our statement of purpose and helping families that want a Catholic education for their children but cannot afford it get the help needed.  We can truly make a difference in the lives of children and families the way our Catholic education influenced our lives. This is the pride we have and the legacy we wish to leave.

July Meeting Minutes Available

The July Bishop David Alumni Association meeting included a presentation by Deacon Greg Gitschier, updates on the October 11 Golf Scramble fundraiser, progress on the planned Bishop David High School Museum displays, and recognition of Cordell Skillman as the 2025 Crosier Award recipient. Members also received financial updates, discussed support for Holy Cross High School, and heard details about recent reunion events and upcoming association initiatives. Honoring the Legacy of Bishop David, Angela Merici, and Holy Cross

The Holy Cross High School Hall of Fame recognizes alumni and friends whose achievements, leadership, and service have made a meaningful impact on Holy Cross and the broader community. Because of the shared heritage of Bishop David, Angela Merici, and Holy Cross High School, alumni from all three schools are eligible for nomination. Honorees may be recognized for accomplishments in athletics, community service, business, education, public service, science, the arts, communications, or as outstanding Next Generation (Early Achiever) alumni. A selection committee will choose five to six inductees to be honored at the Hall of Fame event on November 7, 2026. Nominations not selected this year will remain under consideration for future classes.

Honoring Excellence: Cordell Skillman Awarded Crosier Award

Butch Pinkerton had the honor of presenting the Bishop David Alumni Association Crosier Award given each year to a senior who achieved persistence, dedication and perseverance in their educational journey through Holy Cross. Along with the plaque, Cordell Skillman received a $1000 check. Cordell will enlist in the Army after graduation. After “boot” camp he will join the reserves and continue his education at UL Speed School to become a Mechanical Engineer in the Army. Please join us in congratulating Cordell for receiving this honor and wish him the best in all his future endeavors.
